Sizzling Summer Vibes
Downtown Sumner turned up the heat on Saturday, August 16th, for Sip Sumner: Hot August Nights—and what a night it was! With the summer sun setting over Main Street, hundreds of guests strolled through historic Sumner, sipping wine, tasting beer and cider, shopping, and soaking in the lively summer vibes.
But Sip Sumner is about more than just great drinks—it’s about celebrating our downtown community. Participating businesses kept their doors open late, offering warm welcomes, special deals, and a chance for guests to discover all that makes Sumner so charming.
From First Pour to Last Toast
Guests were greeted at check-in with lively rock band performance from local band “I Don’t Know”, and some participants took a swing at the Pin High Golf Simulator.
Our photo booth, thanks to the generous contribution from The Old Cannery Furniture Warehouse, captured the fun, with friends striking poses and creating memories that will last well beyond summer. Check out the entire Photo Booth Gallery here.
Then after receiving their tasting tickets and a commemorative Belgian beer tasting glass, guest headed to their first tasting stop along Main Street.
The evening was filled with the perfect blend of wine curated by Sumner’s Valley Social Wine Bar, and craft beer from local breweries including Sumner’s Top Down Brewing and Tacoma’s Odd Otter Brewing Co.
Then night wrapped up with laughter echoing down Main Street, shopping bags in hand, and plenty of requests for “Can we do this again soon?” The answer is yes—Sip Sumner will be back this fall with Ghouls Night Out on October 25th.
