Effective January 1, 2021, Sumner joins 35 other towns and cities across Washington who have received the Main Street Community designation.
Each of these 36 Main Street Communities utilize the nationally recognized Four Point
Approach™ for revitalization which focuses on Outreach, Design, Promotion and Economic Vitality.

Washington Main Street Program

Washington Main Street helps communities revialize the economy, appearance, and image of their downtown districts using the successful Main Street Approach ™, a community’s unique hertitage and attributes.

Washington Main Street is focused on bringing people, jobs, and dollars back to Washington’s historic downtowns. Economic development is at the heart of this statewide organization’s efforts to revitalize downtowns and neighborhoods.

Washington Main Street is a coordinating program of the National Main Street Center and utilizes the proven Main Street Four-Point Approach™ to help local leaders organize themselves for success, create vibrant public spaces through design, promote their districts, and enhance their economic base.
